Happy 4th July ...

Wishing all my American/
Malaysian friends/relatives who are residing here in the US... a very Happy July 4th. Enjoy the BBQ, the festivities and most of all the fireworks.

We gonna go pick Brian up tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. He's gonna spend most of his summer holidays with us.

In the evening, we gonna have some friends over for BBQ dinner and will later go to the City Park to watch the Grand fireworks. It's gonna be fun, fun, fun. Happy holidays y'all :)

Dry, Dry, Dry ...

I should say that we have been experiencing drought here for quite a while now. Our front and backyard lawn is more to brown color instead of beautiful green because of the dryness. Although we turn our sprinkler on almost every evening but it just doesn't help at all. My poor roses and our tomatoes are almost dying.... it's so sad. We really need rain.... a lot of rain. Please rain, come to Texas....

At least, we managed to harvest a few good tomatoes before they turn ugly ...

Look, how healthy they've looked before...
And so are my pink roses, they're withering away too ...

Our Newly Installed Ceiling Fan/Light

Didn't I mention somewhere that I do not enjoy Texas summertime? Well, I wasn't kidding... cos it gets hot in here, come summer. But at least, the good thing about it, is that... there's no humidity.... no sweat.

Anyways, I suggested to David that we should install a ceiling fan in our dining area since we don't get enough cool air flow in there. He agreed. We found a suitable and nice looking ceiling fan with light at Lowe's. So yesterday (Saturday), David got busy installing it... he's such a good handyman. He got rid of our other dining light since we do not need it anymore although I kinda like that light... but oh well. Now, with the air-condition and the ceiling fan on... our dining area is so coooool.

Almost done ....

Waa laa ... he succesfully installed our new ceiling fan/light in our dining area...

P/s.. While David was busy working on his project, saya pula yang sibuk taking pictures...hehe.

Our Peaches

When we got back from our Malaysia trip some three weeks ago, we were shocked to find that the mockingbirds have been "taking care" of our peaches. Yes indeed, they pecked and ate some of them. Luckily they left some good and fresh ones for us. Man, those peaches were sooooo juicy and delicious.

Dang, we'd have to wait for another 11 months till we'd be able to eat our very own home grown again. I know they do sell them at the grocery stores but nothing can beat the taste of those home grown ones.... at least that's how I feel.

Look at how big those holes are... pecked by the greedy mockingbirds

We quickly picked those good looking ones and left these for them ...

Every picture tells a story ...

Just sharing some pictures of our balik kampung visit recently. There are more pictures in my FB albums. Enjoy ....

I'm here ....

Pheeew... it's good to be back home, here in Texas again.

David and I had a super duper great "balik kampung" visit. We had such a wonderful time with my family and friends. We attended a friend's traditional wedding saaaana Kg. Matan, Ranau. The couple are from Holland.

We visited a few places of interest which David hasn’t been before. We also went to KDCA to join the crowd to witness the Kaamatan Festival. Attended a Sabahans Abroad gathering at Kinabalu Club (formerly known as D' Junction). Oh boy, that was such a great and fun evening. Big thanks to Kalistah and Irene for making it happen ...

We also went to Pulau Tiga or rather Survivor Island, which is a must for David cos he just loves snorkelling. He's soooo amazed at how beautiful our pulau is. He can't stop bragging about it to his family and friends. But I certainly didn't enjoy the attention of the mean and aggresive monkeys overthere though cos they also reminded me of somebody (LMT)… hahahaha.

But of course, I also enjoyed all the local food that I've missed so much. I ate and ate like nobody's business and as a result I've gained about 2 kgs...LOL. But oh well, it was worth it...hehe.

Yes, the weather was super hot, we were sweating all the time. Luckily, my sister's house is air-conditioned.

My sincere apologies to all you KK blogger friends for I didn't manage to contact any of you. We were too occupied with visits after visits... hardly have time to call anybody. And to those of you who called me, thank you so very much... I really appreciate it.

Some pictures to share here … enjoy.
